La vérité en magie

Christian Messier

Performance

What form magic could take if it was undergoing the same evolution as art, that is to say from illusion and deception to truth? At the edge of performative visual arts and magic, Christian Messier proposes a series of actions whose artistic hybridity creates new outbursts of sense.

BIOGRAPHY
Christian Messier lives and works in Montreal. As a performer, he has participated in numerous events in over a dozen countries. We saw him at the Live Biennale in Vancouver, during Viva! Art action in Montreal, at the performative art biennale in Rouyn-Noranda, at the 7a*11d International Festvail of Perforamance Art of Toronto, at the Manif d’art de Québec and at the Rencontre international d’art performance de Québec in 2000 and 2002. His visual artworks have been presented at l’Œil de Poisson, at PAN! Peinture, which he is a founding member, at the Verticale gallery, at l’Écart Lieu d’Art Actuel and at Laroche/Joncas gallery in 2013. He is also the author of the Webzine Punctum that covers visual arts in the province of Quebec. Christian Messier is represented by the gallery Laroche/Joncas.
