Se prendre

Claudel Doucet + Cooper Lee Smith

It would say, “I’d really like to trust you.”
Bodies would be upside down in a living room.
There would be existential fears, idealistic leaps and ordinary eroticism.
Banal bodies, sitting in the living room and floating in the kitchen. Ineffable tenderness.
A confusion of stories and characters that resembles us a little too much.

A piece of risk and proximity, Se prendre is an apartment performance which blurs vertigoes, voluptuousness and bitterness.

Claudel is an artist whose practice stems from contemporary circus culture. She investigates risk in bodies and presences to weaken facades and explore the forces that stretch between violence and tenderness. A graduate of École nationale de cirque (2004), she is the co-founder of Compagnie du Poivre Rose (Brussels). She created Que nous soyons (2017) as part of the event POSSIBLES and collaborates with Cooper Lee Smith on the project Se prendre.
