Comment j’ai guéri à l’aide de PowerPoint is a testimony/conference of a woman who discovered her singularity during a depression. In it she tells us how she came to familiarize herself with the world’s best-known software, the intimate relationship she developed with it, and how it helped her come to terms with her own dark thoughts. Having only enough strength initially to produce a single dot, which then slowly started to animate and make copies of itself, evolving into a variety of other punctuation marks, fonts and transitions, the artist makes us relive her journey of initiation, in which she rediscovers unexpected interests, as well as a long-forgotten sensibility.

Amélie Dallaire is interested in what is invisible, supernatural and funny. Since her graduation from the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Montréal, she has written short plays featuring unlikely female protagonists, showing her love for the fantastically banal. Her characters do not seem to possess the skills necessary to express their thoughts. She cultivates silences, which allow her to reveal deeper truths than she could otherwise express through words.
