Sarah Chouinard-Poirier invites us to observe the separation between the human and the less than human in a performance that combines situated knowledge, speculation, cinema codes, and popular culture. Drawing on their community and activist work with people who use drugs in Montreal, the artist attempts to awaken their dead so that they may gnaw away at the hygienist, racist, and classist biopowers that govern substances and bodies.
