Set against the backdrop of current public hearings about transparency at Hydro-Québec, J’aime Hydro features an actor-investigator — Christine Beaulieu — who dares to ask what has become of the relationship between herself and the Crown Corporation that keeps her warm in the winter. Are she and her fellow Quebec citizens still “maîtres chez eux”?

BIOGRAPHY Founded in 2000 by Annabel Soutar and Alex Ivanovici, Porte-Parole is a bilingual montreal-based company of documentary theater that creates pieces based on verbatim of real facts and important social issues, like its docudrama Seed/Grain on the cause Schmeiser/Monsanto and the GMO. Two plays are in production: The Watershed/Le Partage des eaux, on the Canada water policy, will be presented during the Toronto Panamerican games in July 2015, as well as Fredy, on the death of Fredy Villanueva and its social implications, that will be presented during the 2015-2016 season of the Théâtre La Licorne.
