Moderated by Louise Michel Jackson (a member of the OFFTA programming committee), this conversation will offer a space to delve into Marie-Reine Kabasha’s artistic approach. By developing improvisational structures that foster authentic physical expression, Marie-Reine explores encountering oneself through movement, navigating uncertainty and perseverance, letting go, and presence. Her approach draws on improvisation, silence, and emotional integration. Working with collaborators from dance and therapeutic backgrounds, she examines the body’s and psyche’s resistances in order to deepen physical and emotional engagement in the present moment. This discussion will be an opportunity to explore her creative process and the tools she uses to transform uncertainty into a catalyst for choreographic exploration.
Offerings
As part of the OFFTA, LA SERRE – arts vivants organizes activities and conversations that allow the live arts communities to reflect on its practices and to engage with the artists presented during the festival.
Offerings provide an opportunity to gather for reflection, celebration, or experimentation. Activated by the artists in the program, curators, and collaborators, these meetings – in the form of conversations, workshops, or celebrations – are all free and invite participants to dive deeper into the artists’ creative processes.
